Google API Disclosure

Inbox Scout is operated by Reel Edge LLC and connects securely with Google APIs to provide read-only access to your email. This access is used to identify, categorize, and analyze your messages so we can deliver the Inbox Scout service.

What We Access

Inbox Scout requests the gmail.readonly scope, which provides read-only access to your Gmail messages and metadata. We also request openid, email, and profile scopes for authentication.

Why We Need Read Access to Email Content

Inbox Scout's core features — extracting promotional offer details such as wagering requirements, expiration dates, and bonus amounts — require reading the full body of emails. The narrower gmail.metadata scope would only provide headers and subject lines, which is not sufficient for offer extraction, categorization, or trend analysis. We do not request write access — we never send, modify, or delete messages.

How We Use Your Data

Specifically, Inbox Scout:

  • Categorizes your emails into types: Promotions & VIP, Transactions, Verification, and Other.
  • Extracts promotional offer details (bonus amounts, wagering requirements, expiration dates) from the body of emails.
  • Generates 12-month trend analytics showing how your promotional email volume changes over time.
  • Tags emails with the originating platform for easy filtering.
  • Uses AI to automatically process your emails on a per-user basis — we do not use your email data to train, build, or improve any general-purpose AI or machine learning models.
  • Does not use Gmail data for advertising.
  • Does not sell, share, or transfer your email data to third parties for advertising, data brokering, or any unrelated purpose.

Data Deletion

You can revoke Inbox Scout's access at any time from the Settings page within the app or from your Google Account permissions (https://myaccount.google.com/permissions). When you disconnect, we stop collecting new email data. To request deletion of previously stored data, contact privacy@reeledge.com. Data is deleted within 30 days of a deletion request.

Limited Use Compliance

Inbox Scout's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
